Pack for a Hunt

I wanted to share with you some tips and ideas on what to bring, what is needed for the TAKE ME HUNTING WEEKEND.

  • ORANGE BLAZE (hat, toque, bibs, jacket, vest, hoodie) You can never have enough and the weather can be unpredictable.
  • WARM CLOTHES (base layers, gloves, mitts, twice as many socks (Dry feet are important), boots x2 if you can (rubber boots), long sleeve shirts, hoodies, tank tops (I wear them under everything), long johns or leggings, gaitor or neck warmer, bibs, insulated pants.
  • SHOTGUN SHELL BELT (the easiest way to carry your shells while bird hunting.
  • SHELLS - depending on your gun if it is a 12 or 20 gauge, please purchase shells that are appropriate for your gauge. You can ask for 2 3/4 (which is the length) and 6, 7.5, 8 shot will suffice (this meas that there will be many pellets in the shell that are fairly small) One box should be plenty.
  • GUN & LICENSES - Please bring valid licenses with you and have them in a protectant sleeve to carry on you at all times while hunting. Your firearms should arrive in your gun case with a trigger lock system on it.

Extras:

  • sleeping bag and pillow
  • personal hygiene (there is a full bathroom in the cabin with running water and shower)
  • towel
  • snacks, drinks, anything like that that you want to chow down on, I will provide dinners and eggs for breakfast straight from the farm! YUM!
  • If anyone else has allergies please let me know.
  • Flashlight
  • Backpack for day walking
  • Sling for shotgun makes it easier to carry.
